Ceramic braces are just as efficient as modern metal braces. They’re also less noticeable because they use clear brackets. Many of our adult patients prefer ceramic braces due to their cosmetic appeal.

By nature, ceramic can be abrasive on tooth enamel. For patients with deeper bite, metal braces, not ceramic, may need to be placed on the lower teeth to prevent wear on the edges of the upper tooth. Most of our patients who opt for ceramic braces find this acceptable because the lower braces are less visible when smiling and speaking. Moreover, if a patient has a significant teeth alignment problem, metal braces may be needed.
